Thank you, Gideon.

A few important items before we begin.
  1. Gideon did not lose his phone charger. At some point between when he lost it and July 11th, he pulled it out of his backpack like a magic trick.
  2. Today, July 9th, was possibly the worst day of my life: Gideon's birthday. Just kidding, I love the dude.

Mom had another meeting this morning, so we had some extra time in the room to just relax. With this time, I did the only thing I could find that was worth my time: I called bestie. We talked for like maybe five minutes, but it was great to catch up with her. Now, you're probably thinking: five minutes? You're an extreme introvert, that must be difficult. You don't understand. At home, me and her call each other for hours a day. We just sit there in silence reading or doing homework, but we're on call like . . . 24/7. Five minutes is not that long at all comparatively.
When Mom's meeting came along; Me, Dad and Gideon went out to the car and watched an episode of Cowboy BeBop.
After her meeting, we had a movie showing booked so that Gideon could see Black Widow on his birthday. On the way, we stopped at Gideon's favorite restaurant: Five Guys. Yep, burgers and fries. You heard me. It's a little odd, but hey, get the kid his birthday burger. We almost couldn't find it because it was tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, but we found it eventually. Gideon even got his coveted Five Guys shake, and I got one too! What? Their chocolate malts are so friggin good . . .
After that it was straight to the movies. We knew we were on the same road as the theater, so when Mom and Dad spotted a Regal, they assumed they were in the right place. We parked in their parking lot and everything. At this point I was disappointed, because I was promised an AMC with their huge comfy chairs . . .so I said "We're going to a Regal? I thought we were going to AMC . . ." to which Mom and Dad agreed we were going to Regal. Whatever, I brushed it off. As we entered the Regal, Dad read the address of the place and thought it sounded unfamiliar. Upon further examination, we were in fact supposed to be in the AMC down the street. HAHA! We entered the entrance for that, and the place looked like one large shopping mall. In fact, it was, except we couldn't find a directory. We asked a security guard who told us where the cinema was. The theater was super cool looking inside, almost a little hawiaan. We got our snacks and entered our theater. Do you want to know what we witnessed? There weren't any fancy chairs. They were just the normal Regal chairs, except they did recline a little bit.
THANK YOU GIDEON! That was probably one of the best Marvel movies I've ever seen. No spoilers, but the woman power in this movie was so amazing. I love it so much, 10/10.
We'd promised Gideon he could do some birthday shopping, so next we went to a Target. Seattle was a disaster and there weren't many places to park, so we were very lucky that Target had their own parking garage . . .UNDERNEATH the Target. It was so cool . . . We had a few non-Gideon related things we had to pick up first, so we all went to find them. Gideon, however, clearly wasn't picking up on signals because he went straight to the toy section without telling any of us. As me and Dad were looking for nail polish remover, we heard Mom start calling for Gideon. Dad dropped everything in my hands and joined Mom. I would've helped too, but I felt like if I didn't stay in place they wouldn't know where I was either, and that would be bad. From where I could, though, I began texting and phone calling Gideon, but he didn't answer. Mom thought at this point that he'd been kidnapped by some random lady for drug money. Finally, Dad found him by the toy section and everything was ok. Gideon got a bunch of little mystery pack toys that he loved, but because the Target was small, they didn't have a whole ton of toy options.
From there, we were trying to get near Olympic National Park, so Mom found a ferry that we could take. Me and Gideon thought it could be cool and exciting, but the line turned out to be three hours long. The drive to bypass the ferry and make it to the hotel (which would've added an extra hour to the ferry route): also three hours long. We decided to drive it.
Pretty soon it was dinner time, so we decided to try Jack (or Yack) in the Box. Gideon didn't give it a high rating, but I personally thought it was pretty good.
I, again, don't remember what happened on the drive, but there was probably some napping involved.

We got to our hotel as the sun was setting. We wanted to see the stars in Olympic Park so we checked in, set up our belongings and then set off on the hour drive to the park. I tried to read or do something calming on the drive. Gideon, who was beginning to get tired, did the same. The problem being his calming is spewing out random facts and never ceasing to make noise. It was certainly something, and by the last twenty minutes I was absolutely snapping.
Once we got there, we could begin to make out the constellations little by little. As they brightened up, we placed a few of our favorites in the sky. Not only were there the usual brighter stars out, but there were stars everywhere. More than I've ever seen before. It was stunning. Dad told us that we couldn't see the Milky Way until about midnight, so we decided to go back to the car for a bit after that and take a little break or nap.
When I woke up, we stepped outside and clear as day was a huge white streak across the entire sky. And that's just the edge of our universe. Just the edge. It was so beautiful and imposing . . .I didn't cry, you did. And I definitely didn't need basically the entire ride home to finally be done crying. Also, that was definitely you.
Clearly, based on the fact that I shed human tears, it was time for me and the rest of the exhausted family, to sleep.
