Court has a work meeting early this afternoon and we have been given late checkout at 2PM. In the meantime we need to pick up those sandals we couldn't get last night. We head into a Bealls after trying a Duluth Trading Company and there are a good number of shoes on the wall. Court and Abby go shopping while Gideon and I go down to the 12+ size shoe area since he's presently a size 13 in most shoes. Unfortunately the only sandals here are size 12s. We try them on anyway and after loosening some of the straps, he can manage to get into them. After getting it all together we head back to the room so that Court can study for her meeting and the kiddos and I can go entertain ourselves for a bit. Court offers to do the laundry while we are out and she's prepping for the meeting so we get a roll of quarters from the desk. We all go and check out the laundry room since it's on the way to the room. All of the machines are out of order except for one washing machine. Not super helpful.

We decided to go to an arcade. We head in and it's smaller than I had thought but still had a decent selection of games and machines. There is a pair of guys paying these synchronized rhythm games that are these circles with buttons around the edge and a touch screen in the middle. It was kind of mesmerizing watching them move and their movements being in unison since they were playing the same levels together. We get some cards for us to play and Abby immediately heads to play a claw machine game with a bunch of rubber duckies. She manages to not only get the one that she was looking for but gets an extra one as well. A good sign for the day I guess. The kids go off and play some more games competitively against each other and I take the chance to play Galaga. It's been years and I'm terrible but I enjoy it. There's also a Pac-Man machine that is like some enhanced new version that I play a couple of rounds on. I take most of the rest of the time watching the kids play each other including basketball, Mario Kart, air hockey and ski ball. We all play a couple of rounds of pinball as well. It's a good time and amusing watching the two of them play. Especially Abby doing the basketball game because she can't shoot the ball without doing a jump shot.

Kiddos at the Arcade

We get back to the room and Court has locked the door so we wait out in the hallway for a bit before getting allowed in to help her pack and pull stuff together. We get everything together and back in the van and decide to grab some lunch before we leave. There's a Zaxby's nearby and we are trying to try new stuff when we can so we head on over. We order our food and it's a good amount due to our family and it being a little later so we are hungry. We move to a waiting spot while they prep it and realize that there's another jeep behind us and Abby has now gotten a ton of ducks from the claw machines at the arcade. She runs up to offer them a duck and we can hear the woman yelling with glee in the van. After eating some pretty good chicken strips, we are on the road heading towards Key West. A few crazy storms and a lot of road later, we stay the night in Deerfield Beach.

Tomorrow, arriving at Key West and Dry Tortugas!
