Adam's Blog July 12th, Day 7!

Second day in OKC, after having a great homemade breakfast we head into the city for a Bricktown canal tour. It is a very pretty area and features Sonic corporate headquarters. How could we not eat at Sonic for lunch then?

After lunch we visit the Oklahoma City Bombing Memorial. What a somber sight of all of those empty chairs lined up along the reflecting pond. Even more so are all of the small chairs marking the children killed in the attack. Really brings back memories of the event and news coverage. Just outside the memorial is a fence where people are still continuing to put items in remembrance of those that were lost. There is also a surviving elm tree which is amazing that a tree would survive the bombing, demolition and building. On the wall of the neighboring building is a remark the responding fire department spray painted about justice needing to be done. All very sobering.

After leaving here we are on our way out to see their families latest additions, quads, and for the kids some horses. The babies are adorable and so small. It's had to believe that we all started out that small. The horses are nice as well. Abigail's favorite Thunder was very nice but kept munching on Gideon's hair.

We head back to their house again for another dinner before hitting the road for a while. We pull in to Elk City as the sun was setting and set up camp for the night. Texas here we come.
