Adam's Blog July 22nd, Day 17!

The plan today is make it in to San Fran and take in some sights before checking in to the hotel a little early in the day to get some down time from the road. Seems simple right?

We hit the road and things go pretty well into the city. We first choose one of the many delis that we see on the Yelp app. When we get to the street that has these, it is SO busy. There is literally no place to park so we cruise on past and give these amiss. We decide to get some lunch at a pizza place that we cruised by. We all get out expecting that it will have some kind of seating so that we could be out of the van for a bit. This wasn't the case. There was barely enough room in there for the workers and the four of us standing there to order some pizza by the slice. Oh well, we eat it in the car.

After eating we head down to the Walt Disney Family Museum. It looks cool from the website so I am excited to get there. We park, walk over just in enough time to see that they are closed today. *sigh* Oh well. So we walk around the area and get a look at the Golden Gate and Alcatraz from there as well as the beautiful former parade grounds for the military base that was there. We head from there up to a look out point to take in the view of the city and head down to another vista of the bridge as well. Again, this place is packed with cars. We fight for a bit to get a spot but finally find a place to park and head out for the view and a brief walk down to the waterside.

We head back from the vistas to go back downtown past Lombard Street and then to Littlejohn's original location. Lombard street is closed to traffic during the peak tourist season because of the extreme amount of use that it gets so we go around the block to get a vista of the street. This includes going down a road that was very steep. I cannot begin to describe the hilarity here with Courtney driving, see the videos for a clue. Lombard Street was cool to see though and getting into the Littlejohn's here was cool too as they had more samples and more stuff than the location in LA. We head back to the hotel to rest for a while and get ready for the next day.
