Adam's Blog August 2nd, Day 28
Today started out like a normal road trip day. Breakfast from the hotel, pack the van up, gas and off on the road we go. We drive out of South Dakota and into Minnesota in the morning. There is only one stop scheduled for the day, The Mall of America, and we are planning on making it there for lunch.
On the cruise to the mall we stopped to pick up a couple of caches and when I got back into the van, I hear Abigail talking to her friend Lulu on the phone. She recieved the class list for next year and wanted to let Abigail know that they are in the same class! This will make the third year that they are in class together and they are both exicted, we are all excited for her as well. Lots to be thankful for on this trip!
Shortly after the chat we make it to the mall. We pull in to the mall and attempt to find a parking spot, which wasn't actually all that full. I was surprised. We head off to the Rainforest Cafe for lunch which got Abigail super excited. We had no idea that she liked it there that much. Gideon was excited about all of the fish and moving animals around us. As a reward for all of the good news and good beahavior the kids get a toy cup and Courtney gets a flashing cup for her drink.
After lunch we walk around the Nickelodeon amusement park which is actually pretty impressive for an inside area for the mall. There are rollercoasters, bumper cars, all sorts of stuff and they are all themed with Nickelodeon stuff, even some from programs that don't air anymore like Rugrats. There was also a Nickelodeon store with a lot of neat toys and stuff as well. It was actually pretty cool. We also stopped at a JustBorn store with all sorts of Peeps and Mike and Ike merchandise and such.
After cruising around a bit we head back out to the car to drive on to our final stop for the night in Wisconsin. We were picking up dinner for the kids when we saw a sign for Checkers! Courtney and I are excited for another chance to have some nice greasy food. All in all a pretty nice day.
